Smithsonian Museums
The Smithsonian Institution is a US government made/funded educational complex that hosts archival, research, and education centers. The majority of the Smithsonian facilities are located in DC with a handful of others in Maryland, Virginia, New York, Florida, Massachusetts and the Republic of Panama. Admission to their facilities are normally free of charge with the exception of the Cooper Hewitt Design Museum in New York City that has a fee for visitors 18+. The most popular of these facilities are the National Zoo and the Museums that surround the National Mall; all of which are in Washington DC. Events are held year round with the biggest being the Folklife Festival that happens every summer in the National Mall.
